CSEE Proof of Principle and Proof of Concept Grants 2012
CSEE is launching its 5th Round of funding through two grant programs: the Proof of Principle (POP) and the Proof of Concept (POC). The Request For Proposals (RFP) and application forms can be downloaded under the "RFP & Forms" category, please see left side panel of website.
The objective of the Proof of Principle (POP) Grant is to move into application or commercialization the products of energy-environment research, whether the products are technologies to address the environmental challenges of energy production, transformation and use or insights to inform policy and investment decisions. Up to $100K PER grant is available for a period of up to 18 months.
The objective of the Proof of Concept (POC) Grant is to stimulate ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking and explore novel concepts for how to develop game-changing or transformative technologies or policy-relevant insights that can address the environmental challenges of energy production, transformation and use. Up to $25K PER grant is available for a period of up to 12 months.
Deadline for submission is January 16th 2012 (Deadline has been pushed forward to January 27, 2012). Notices of Decision will be sent in March 2012 for projects to start on April 1st 2012.
CSEE has nominally allocated approximately $1.6M for Proof of Principle and Proof of Concept funding. If the funds are not allocated in the January 16th 2012 competition, a subsequent competition may be announced later in 2012.
